Closed Beta for PUBG Mobile Lite
Selected countries, a WIP test build, and how to follow official channels without fake CBT APKs.
PUBG Mobile Lite has a closed beta, and it is easy to over-read. Storefronts list the 2026 client as PUBG MOBILE LIGHT; this wiki uses PUBG Mobile Lite. After pre-registration opened 25 August 2026, official posts said CBT access would be available in selected countries. They also said the CBT uses a work-in-progress test build that does not represent the final version. That sentence is the whole policy. It is not a worldwide early launch, and it is not the mid-November 2026 store client. The App Store listing currently shows 12 November 2026 as the dated window for the consumer listing; CBT is a separate gate.
Lightspeed Studios is still iterating. Level Infinite / Tencent is still publishing. If your store only shows Pre-register, you are in the normal regional rollout, not locked out of a secret country club you were promised. Pre-register is the page for that button. Release date is the page for the November window.
What official channels actually said
Producer Rick Li announced the lighter client at the PUBG Mobile World Cup on 16 August 2026. Vincent Wang later confirmed account sharing and cross-play with standard PUBG Mobile. The CBT posts sit beside those messages: selected countries, WIP build, not final. They did not publish a public country list. This wiki will not invent one — no “India plus Brazil plus X” table, no leaked ISO codes, no Discord rumor column.
If a screenshot of a test HUD looks rough, that is expected. Work-in-progress means placeholder UI, unfinished modules, and bugs that should not be treated as launch gospel. Controls therefore refuses fake button coordinates. Maps refuses LIGHT-only map sizes based on a test screenshot. How to play describes the classic loop the team says it is aiming at, not a beta-only rule card.
Watch the PUBG Mobile site, the Discord, and the store listing itself. Recaps on this wiki: announcement, pre-registration update, updates hub. Do not watch a random “CBT DOWNLOAD MEGA” video for policy.
If you were invited
Use the official test path you were sent — usually a store beta track or an in-app flag on the LIGHT listing (com.tencent.igfit / App Store id 6740521489). Log in with the PUBG Mobile account you actually play. Vincent Wang’s account-sharing comment is about the product family; still treat a test build as a test. Do not spend money expecting every IAP to carry perfectly through a WIP client. Free-to-play with IAP is the launch business model; a beta can still reset or ignore purchases.
Expect Erangel first. Optional Miramar, Sanhok, Team Deathmatch, and Metro Royale modules may be missing, broken, or hidden. That does not mean they were cancelled. It means the build is unfinished. File feedback through official beta tools if they exist. Clip bugs, but do not present them as patch notes.
Cross-play with the live standard client may be limited or disabled in a test environment even though the shipping product is supposed to allow it. If a friend on the live app cannot party with your CBT client, that is a test constraint, not a broken promise. After launch, use cross-play. For first-hour hygiene on the consumer listing, use getting started.
If you were not invited
You wait. Pre-register in your region. Play the standard app if you already have it. Study Erangel towns on maps and landing spots. Tune a HUD on the main client with controls and sensitivity. That work transfers because LIGHT is meant to stay in step, not because a leak APK is “close enough.”
Selected countries means most players will not see CBT. That is normal. It is not a skill issue and it is not a VPN puzzle. Changing Play country to chase a test can lock you out of purchases on the account you care about. BGMI Lite in India is a counterpart program, not a back door into global LIGHT CBT. Do not mix those store listings.
Fake CBT APKs and leftover 2019 Lite builds
The phrase “closed beta” attracts malware. Sites clone the LIGHT key art, zip the 2019 60-player Lite, and call it a CBT. Lite vs Light exists so you can reject that file. Unofficial APKs also steal the account you wanted to share. Download is official stores only.
Codes dangled as “beta redeem” are equally suspect. Keep an eye on codes for anything that is actually published. Hardware questions without a made-up LIGHT RAM floor: device requirements. Indexes: guides hub, tools hub, links hub, squad roles, weapons.
Treat CBT as a lab sample. Treat the November store listing as the product. If you cannot tell which one a YouTube thumbnail is selling, it is not for you. Official silence on country lists is not a clue to fill in; it is a boundary this page will keep.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you drop into Erangel.
Which countries are in the PUBG Mobile Lite closed beta?
Official posts say selected countries and have not published a public list. This wiki will not guess. Watch the announcement recap and official channels.
Is the CBT the same build I will get in November?
No. Official copy calls it a work-in-progress test build that does not represent the final version. Launch window: release date.
I pre-registered. Why no beta access?
Pre-register and CBT are different gates. Region rollout of the store listing is also staggered. Steps: pre-register.
Can I sideload a CBT APK if I was not selected?
No. Use official stores only. Fake CBT files are a common account-theft trick. See download.
Should I judge maps and controls from beta footage?
Is this the 2019 Lite test server coming back?
No. 2019 Lite was a separate 60-player Android game. The 2026 CBT belongs to LIGHT. Comparison: Lite vs Light.
