PUBG Mobile Lite Four-Man Roles on Erangel
IGL calls, fragger entries, support utility, sniper peeks. Same habits as main-app squads.
A four-man PUBG Mobile Lite squad is still a PUBG Mobile squad. LIGHT does not add class loadouts. What it does add is mixed-client parties: one or two players on the lighter first download, others on the full app, all on Erangel unless everyone installed extra maps. Roles exist so that party does not split into four solo queues that happen to share a voice chat.
Name the roles in the lobby. If nobody wants to IGL, you do not have a squad — you have four people waiting for someone else to ping. Cross-play details sit on cross-play; this page is the in-match job list.
IGL — in-game lead
The IGL owns plane, compound, rotate, and engage. Not every kill. Good IGL habits:
- Mark one landing (see landing spots). Veto School if two teammates are new.
- Call ammo types early so the stack is not all 7.62 with no 5.56.
- Decide crate: take it, bait it, or ignore it. Crate greed without a call is how you get third-partied in the open.
- Speak compass plus compound (“310, west Pochinki, hold”) so LIGHT players who have not been on the island in years can still move.
- Watch zone before the next fight, not after two people are downed in a field.
The IGL should not also be the only entry fragger unless the stack is a ranked three-stack plus a cousin. If you are calling and swinging every door, nobody is watching the rotate.
Fragger — first contact
The fragger takes the door, the stair, and the first spray. On Erangel that usually means Beryl, M416, Vector, or UMP in compounds (see weapons). Habits:
- Land on the same building cluster as the IGL, not “I’ll grab the next street.”
- Pre-aim stairs. School and Pochinki punish people who reload in hallways.
- If you get the first knock, do not chase the revive across a street without a smoke or a support player holding the angle.
- Announce when you are swapping to a shotgun or DBS. The rest of the squad needs to know you are now a doorway, not a field.
Fragger is not “most kills in career.” It is the person who is allowed to be loud on purpose.
Support — utility, trades, and second door
Support carries smokes, molotovs, extra meds, and the patience to trade. On phones this is the role that wins more games than highlight clips.
- Smoke the knock, not your own ego peek.
- Hold the off-angle while the fragger swings.
- Track vehicles. A support who hears a buggy and says nothing is a spectator.
- Keep a 5.56 rifle even if the fragger took Beryl, so the squad can still fight mid-range when the circle opens.
- If a teammate is on a weaker LIGHT device, sit closer, not 200 m away with a 8x you found in a shed.
Support also owns loot discipline. Four people stripping one house while a second squad lands next door is how warm drops turn hot.
IGL-sniper — when one person calls and taps
Some stacks combine IGL and sniper: the caller holds Kar98, M24, Mini14, or SLR and talks from a ridge while three people clear. That works on Erangel fields. It fails in School if the “sniper IGL” never enters.
Habits if you merge the roles:
- Only snipe when the compound is already yours or you are covering a rotate.
- Call the next compound before you take a 400 m peek that nobody can trade.
- Carry an SMG. A bolt with no close gun is a meme in Pochinki.
- If you knock with a Kar98, wait for the fragger to swing. Third-partying your own knock is how you donate the crate.
If your four-stack has a dedicated sniper who is not the IGL, that player still follows the IGL’s rotate. Beautiful 8x shots do not matter if the trio already left for zone.
Comms that survive mixed clients
LIGHT and main-app players may not share every ping icon on a CBT build. Official posts say that build is not final. Until the November window, assume you need voice plus compass. Short calls beat essays:
- “Crack, 210, window”
- “Knock, hold, no chase”
- “Car east, we leave”
- “Blue 30, buggy now”
Mute the Royale Pass shop during a rotate. Mute the friend who wants to hot drop Military every game without a bridge plan.
Practice loop before LIGHT is playable
You can rehearse roles in the main app today. Same island, same guns, same four jobs. When LIGHT is playable, run a custom or unranked stack and keep the same names. Sensitivity starting ranges: sensitivity. Controls layout: controls. Do not wait for a unique LIGHT class update that has not been announced.
Week-one advice for an upcoming client is boring on purpose: one landing, one caller, two ammo types, smokes on the knock, cars before greed. Pair it with how to play so new LIGHT players learn the match loop, not just a role title they can paste in Discord.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you drop into Erangel.
Does LIGHT have character classes?
No. IGL, fragger, support, and sniper are habits you assign in a four-man squad, not unlockable jobs.
Who should IGL on a mixed LIGHT / main-app party?
Whoever will actually call plane and rotate. Client choice does not make you the lead. Agree in the lobby.
Can the IGL also snipe?
Yes, on field rotates. Not as an excuse to skip compound clears. Carry a close gun.
What does support carry?
Smokes, molotovs, extra meds, a mid-range rifle, and the vehicle call. Support is trades, not leftover loot.
Should we split drop to cover more loot?
Almost never. Four-man power is trades. Split drops turn you into solos. See landing spots.
Can we practice roles before LIGHT launches?
Yes, in the main PUBG Mobile client on Erangel. LIGHT is supposed to share that combat, not replace it with new classes.
