Modes in PUBG Mobile Lite

Classic battle royale on Erangel first. Extra modes wait behind optional downloads.

PUBG Mobile Lite Game Modes

PUBG Mobile Lite is built so you can queue a classic battle royale match after the first install. Storefronts title the 2026 client PUBG MOBILE LIGHT. The official Games Press note from 25 August 2026 is specific about the rest of the playlist: maps including Miramar and Sanhok, along with Team Deathmatch and Metro Royale, are available for download on demand. That is not a promise that every mode from the full PUBG Mobile client is sitting in the 1 GB Android pack. It is a promise that extra modes are modules, not a mandatory second download before match one.

This page is the mode map. How to play is the classic loop. Maps covers Erangel plus the optional islands. Download is the storage math. Do not sideload a “all modes unlocked” APK while the client is still upcoming.

Classic battle royale (the first-install mode)

Official copy centres LIGHT on classic battle royale on Erangel, with up to 100 players dropping solo or in teams, looting, and fighting inside a shrinking zone. That is the same sport as standard PUBG Mobile, not the 2019 Lite’s 60-player 2 km island. If you only have time for one queue after install, this is the queue. Log in with the account you already use — account login — so friends and supported cosmetics are on that ID.

Classic still means plane path, parachute, loot priority, zone timing, and a revive if your squad is stacked. Controls and sensitivity matter more here than in a tiny TDM box because you will run, drive, and hold angles for twenty minutes. Landing spots and weapons are written for this mode, not for Metro corridors.

Cross-play with the standard app is part of the publishing pitch. A friend on full PUBG Mobile can sit in your classic lobby if both of you queue the same mode and the map is actually installed on your LIGHT client. If they want Miramar and you never downloaded that module, you will not share that island. Details: cross-play.

Team Deathmatch (optional)

Team Deathmatch is named in the official LIGHT press note as an on-demand mode. In the main PUBG Mobile client, TDM is a short respawn playlist used to warm aim. Treat LIGHT the same way until patch notes say otherwise: a practice box, not the ranked ladder, and not something you must install to hear the classic plane.

Download TDM when you have storage and you actually want a five-minute aim session. It is a poor first install because it does not teach zone, vehicles, or Erangel rotations. After you have a HUD you like, TDM is where you test graphics and gyro without wasting a 100-player match. If the mode is missing from your client, open the in-game download manager before accusing the store of a fake listing. Closed beta builds in selected countries are work-in-progress and not final — closed beta.

Metro Royale (optional)

Metro Royale is also listed as an on-demand mode in the 25 August 2026 press copy. In the main game it is a distinct PvE/PvP extraction-style playlist, not classic Erangel. LIGHT does not publish a unique Metro map size for the lighter client. Do not invent LIGHT-only extraction rules. Download the module if you already play Metro on the standard app and you want that playlist on the smaller install. Skip it if you only care about chicken dinners.

Because Metro is optional, a squad that never installed it cannot be dragged into that playlist by a friend on the full client. Matchmaking still has to agree on the mode. Keep that in the party chat before you tap ready.

What is not a LIGHT-only mode

Payload, Arena Warehouse, and other 2019 Lite playlists are not the 2026 LIGHT design. If a YouTube thumbnail slaps “LIGHT” on an old Lite TDM ruins trailer, close it. Lite vs Light is the comparison. Ranked rules, feature parity with every main-app event mode, and the exact optional-module list can still move before November 2026. Official posts say mid-November; the App Store listing currently shows 12 November 2026. Track dates on release date.

India’s BGMI Lite is a counterpart, not this package. Mode names may rhyme. Store IDs do not. Stay on Google Play com.tencent.igfit and App Store id 6740521489 for the global LIGHT client. Pre-register if the button has reached your region.

How to choose what to download

  1. Install LIGHT and play classic Erangel first.
  2. If storage is tight, stop there. That is the point of a lighter client.
  3. Add TDM if you want a warm-up box and you already have a claw layout.
  4. Add Metro Royale only if you actually queue it on the main app.
  5. Add Miramar or Sanhok from maps when your squad will play those islands, not because a thumbnail said “all maps.”

Getting started is the account checklist. Device requirements is the size checklist. Codes is empty until an official Redeem string exists. Official voice: PUBG Mobile and Discord. Index: guides hub, updates hub, preview.

Play the mode that is actually on disk. Classic Erangel is the one LIGHT puts there first.
