PUBG Mobile Lite Storage and Compatibility

Official size claims, iOS 13+, optional modules. Built for more phones—no invented RAM floor.

Device Requirements

PUBG Mobile Lite exists because the main client is heavy. The official pitch is a lighter first download and optimized performance across more phones, not a secret low-spec chip chart. This page repeats what Lightspeed, Level Infinite, and the store listings have actually said, then stops. It will not invent a RAM minimum, a GPU list, or a “LIGHT only runs on 2024 flagships” rumor.

Official size claims

Producer copy for PUBG MOBILE LIGHT:

  • Android first download around 1 GB
  • iOS first download under 2 GB
  • No mandatory extra package before the first match
  • Erangel pre-installed
  • Additional maps and modes on demand (coverage of the announcement names Miramar, Sanhok, TDM, and Metro Royale)

Plan storage around those first-download numbers, then leave extra room. Operating systems, store overhead, and the first optional module will use more than the marketing figure. If you only have 1.1 GB free on Android, free more space before install week. If you know you want a second map, budget another pack; do not assume the 1 GB folder stays 1 GB forever.

The App Store product page can show a Size field that does not match the “under 2 GB” first-download sentence. Pre-release size fields are often placeholders. Use the producer first-download claims for planning, then re-read the listing when the November 2026 window is actually delivering a binary.

iOS compatibility line

The App Store listing for id 6740521489 currently says the app requires iOS 13.0 or later (with the matching iPadOS 13 line for iPads). That is a store compatibility field, not a Lightspeed essay about iPhone models. If Apple or the developer later raises the floor, the listing wins. This wiki will not translate “iOS 13+” into a fake iPhone 8 / 11 / 14 table.

If your iPhone cannot install other iOS 13-era apps, LIGHT will not be a special exception. If it can, you are in the compatibility window the store is advertising. Performance is a separate question from “the store will let me tap Pre-order.”

Android, without a fake RAM floor

Android’s official identifier is com.tencent.igfit. The public language is built for more phones and a ~1 GB first download. That is not the same as “any Android 5.0 handset with 1 GB of RAM.” Lightspeed has not published an official RAM minimum for LIGHT, so this page will not type one. Blogs that paste the old 2019 Lite RAM table onto this client are mixing products.

Practical Android advice that does not require a leaked spec sheet:

  • Keep several extra gigabytes free so Play, cache, and one optional map can land.
  • Pre-register on Google Play, not on APK blogs (download).
  • If the main PUBG Mobile client already thermal-throttles your phone into a slide show, LIGHT should be easier, not magic. Close background apps; do not expect 90 FPS from a device that struggles with browser tabs.
  • 64-bit, updated WebView, and a current Play Store are the boring requirements every modern game already assumes. They are still not a published LIGHT RAM number.

Optional modules versus first match

The whole point of the lighter client is choice. Erangel and core combat are the first session. Extra maps and extra modes wait until you opt in. If you want to keep the folder small, do not download every module on day one. If your friends on the main app live in Sanhok, read cross-play and maps before you promise them a desert drop you have not installed.

CBT builds in selected countries can look heavier, lighter, or uglier than launch. Official posts call that build work-in-progress and not the final version. Do not screenshot a beta settings page and treat it as the shipping device policy.

What to check before November

  1. Free storage versus ~1 GB / under 2 GB, plus headroom.
  2. iOS version versus the 13.0+ listing, if you are on iPhone or iPad.
  3. Official store listing, not a “LIGHT MOD” file.
  4. Account bind on the main app so you are not installing a guest profile (getting started).
  5. A sensitivity screenshot from the main app so you have a starting point (sensitivity).

LIGHT remains upcoming with a November 2026 window. Pre-registration may be open. That combination is not a reason to buy a new phone this afternoon. It is a reason to free storage, confirm iOS 13+, and ignore anyone selling a RAM chart they cannot cite. For the store buttons themselves, use pre-registration. For why the client exists at all, use the announcement.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you drop into Erangel.

How big is PUBG Mobile Lite?

About 1 GB on Android and under 2 GB on iOS for the first download. Erangel is included. Extra maps add size only if you opt in.

What iOS version do I need?

The App Store listing currently requires iOS 13.0 or later. Check the live listing if that field changes.

What is the official RAM minimum?

There is not one in public Lightspeed notes. This page will not invent a number. The store language is built for more phones.

Will I need a second download before my first match?

Official copy says no mandatory extra package before the first match. Optional maps and modes come later if you want them.

Is the old 2019 Lite spec sheet valid?

No. That Android 60-player client was a different product. Do not copy its RAM table onto LIGHT.

Why does the App Store size field look larger than 2 GB?

Pre-release size fields can be placeholders. Plan with the producer first-download claims, then re-check at launch week.
